I've been busy (lazy?) and haven't posted updated photos of baby Christopher. He's changing so much that I can't put it off any longer. I'll start with the above photo when he was 1 week old and just home from the hospital. So adorable!
Below are two photos when he was just shy of 2 weeks old.

We skipped a week of photos, so here are two when he was 1 month old. Do you see how smooth and round his head got as his hematoma healed?

Finally, here is a photo we took last Wednesday. Notice anything different?
You're correct. No oxygen canula! Last Wednesday our home health providers called and told us we should do an overnight pulse oxymetry test. That means they gave us yet another monitor, told us to take Christopher off of the oxygen for the entire night, and asked us to return the monitor the next morning. We had to take advantage of the opportunity to film him without his canula. It was like seeing his face for the first time. We also got to take the socks off his hands since we didn't have to wory about him removing his oxygen tubing. Aren't his little hands beautiful? Our biggest news yet is that the pediatrician called us last night and told us the results of the test . . . no more oxygen necessary! Just in time for Thanksgiving we can report that we are grateful for one less set of wires, no portable oxygen tank, and 50 feet less of tubing to trip on around the house.
Now I'm off to make the cranberry, cherry, and toasted walnut chutney for tomorrow's Thanksgiving feast. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

What a wonderful Thanksgiving you'll have -- a beautiful, healthy boy is the perfect reason for much thanks. I appreciate the update!
Thank you for the pictures of your little cutie pie. I adore his little face, I can't help but think he looks a little bit like Elena.
Yay! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day! He looks so adorable in those pictures!
Thanks for telling me about your blog. I love to see pictures of your new baby! I didn't know that both Chris and Eva were allergic to milk and gluten. Here's a recipe that we really like that I think is free from both.
Easy Picadillo
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 small green bell pepper, chopped
1 can salsa-style chunky tomatoes, undrained (i just use regular)
1 can canned black beans, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup golden raisin (i just use regular)
cook meat and bell pepper over medium heat about 8 to 10 min, stirring occasionally, until meat is brown; drain.
Stir in remaining ingredients, reduce heat to low. cover and simmer 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until hot.
jon doesn't like the raisin so most of the time i substitue frozen corn. i like it with raisins.
One thing about that recipe that I forgot. We always serve it over rice or corn chips.
Hooray! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.
I think it's so interesting to see that he looks a bit like his sisters, but you can tell he's a boy. In the pictures with his eyes closed I can see more Holmes in him, but in a few with his eyes open, they remind me of your baby pictures, Erin. He really is so cute and it's wonderful to see his pictures, especially without the oxygen!
what a cute boy! do you find parenting a boy different than girls yet?
Hi Katharine!
I haven't seen too many differences yet other than how big he's growing. He weighs 12 lbs. 8 oz. and is 24 1/2 inches long. My girls were quite a bit smaller. I imagine I'll notice more differences as his personality emerges.
Hope all of the food allergies are getting better.
